What Constitutes Intelligence?
Cognizant of the work that goes into sharpening hacking skills, embracing it as a business or career is not an intelligent decision, though the trade requires intelligence to blossom. What is the ball of contention between a hacker being intelligent and hacking not being an intelligent decision? The hallmark of intelligence comes prior in considering what hacking is; illegal. Intelligence then precipitates that pursuing hacking as a means of livelihood is not intelligent.
Power corrupts the mind; if you want to know a man, give him/her power. A dictator epitomizes what power is by how they push their weight around. Most of them tend to paint an indefatigable persona by creating an impression of omnipresence. In many setups with a leader of this type, huge resources are splurged towards intelligently gathering information.
There have been scenarios where a family member is a government
spy and makes sure no ill is spoken of the current dictatorial government. How
the regime manages to infiltrate an individual's mind is always fascinating. A
guarantee of total insulation from any harm makes the individual feel
indomitable and indispensable irrespective of the situation.
This assurance is sometimes fickle; what the administration wants is loyalty at any cost, and the only way they can get this is to ensure the informer feels irreplaceable. Working these out needs a concerted effort by loyalists who stem from the dictator cascading down to the normal citizen. This is intelligently done by spreading fear in all spheres of life, forcing everyone into subjection by brutally dealing with any form of opposition or alternative voice.
A sizeable number of countries have gone through dictatorial leadership, and some currently are. Correctly analyzing these countries' cases, can dictatorship be recommended bearing in mind factors development and general welfare of lives? As intelligent dictatorship is, can it be allowed in situations where it's deemed fit?
Conversely, is dictatorship an intelligent way of leadership observing how the freedom of expression is expertly and sometimes brutally muted? Some will conclude yes based on factors development and equitable distribution of resources, yet others irrespective, fighting against the suppression of the masses comes before anything else. The question still beckons, is dictatorship intelligent because development is rampant under it, therefore, deemed a success or not intelligent when things go awry?
Critically analyzing the two scenarios, we can make interesting conclusions on what is considered intelligent. Intelligence is contextual guided by what is considered accepted standards of what does not give license to unrightfully cause inconvenience. On the other hand, intelligent decisions should not in any way be considered perfect for both sides of the pendulum to which it is for or against. In most cases, when the qualitative analysis of the resultant effects or impact courtesy of a decision made gravitates heavily towards the positive, this influences the conclusion of a decision as intelligent.
